Hello Florida!

We made it to Florida!

Saturday night’s show at The Cave was such a rad time. When we first walked into the venue, we instantly understood the name of this place, it really did feel like you were walking through a cave! There is even a funny little toy bat hanging from the ceiling behind us in the pic below. Rogue Band of Youth opened the set with some insanely beautiful harmonies, fuzzed out guitar, tight bass lines, rockin harmonica, and pretty much overall amazingness. Beloved Binge followed with some rockin high energy drumming, sweet hooky guitar riffs, and songs that had us hopping and bopping. We played our set third and it felt so comfortable in this place! Finally, The Shelles closed the night with an awesome explosion of psychedelic rock. We felt so lucky to be amidst all of the amazing musicians that night, and the good folks of the triangle area who came out. This is a town that is definitely on our list of places to return to!

Yesterday, driving from N.C. to FL was quite an adventure. Being food lovers, we couldn’t drive through South Carolina or Georgia without stopping for some good southern BBQ or fried chicken! We found this awesome little spot called Chicken Lickin’ right off I-95 in Hardeeville SC. Best BBQ pork sandwich I’ve ever had! This is Diwas outside the place after we ate, happy, full, ready to hit the road 🙂

Saturday 12/20 at The Cave, Chapel Hill

I’m writing this from the road, my first smartphone blog post! We’re on our way to our next show, which is tonight at The Cave in Chapel Hill NC. Don’t worry, Diwas is driving!!! We’ve got a funny radio show on and the sky is clear!

Beloved Binge, Rogue Band of Youth, and The Shelles are all on the line up tonight, with us somewhere in the mix 🙂 If you are in the area, come out and hang with us!!!

Rockwood and Leftfield

I don’t know what I like more about being in a band, playing shows, writing music, recording songs… I love it all! Recently we’ve been playing more shows than anything else. The show a few weeks ago at Rockwood was a lot of fun and we had the pleasure of meeting up with some of our out-of-town friends who happened to be in NYC that night.

Last weekend we returned to the lower east side to play a gig at Leftfield joined by our friends Beloved Binge on tour from North Carolina. They are another guy girl duo and like us, they are married! They had such a powerful energy in their performance of songs about their own personal life experiences, the aging of relatives, eating a vegan diet, and funny life lessons. Every new venue we play here has its own charm. Getting to experience that is something I love about shows and I really like the crazy music filled lower east side. We’re trying to stick to one show a month right now, but finding it hard to resist playing more! I was not able to get video from the past two, but we do have pictures!
